Yesterday was another absolutely amazing day. Laura and I once again had our private tour guides, David and Blake, show us around the east coast of Oahu!
It was epic. First stop was one we had heard a lot about from the guides, Waimanalo beach and it definitely lived up to all we had heard. Super soft sand and hardly anybody there. Definitely a nice change of pace from Waikiki.
Then we headed to another beach call Lani Kai. Laura and I were saying to each other, if we had of rented a car and attempted to drive around the island, we would never have found such amazing beaches. The best bit about the beach was that there was turtles swimming not far from shore. As soon as we saw one come up for air, we all grabbed our snorkel gear in a mad frenzy to get out there and swim with them. It was an unbelievable experience and it’s on I will never forget. We also managed to get some pretty cool photos
After swimming with turtles, they took us on a hike called “pillbox hike”. It basically looked over Lani Kai and the view was unreal. I was a little worries on how my knees would feel on the way down, but they were fine and made it out alive
Today was out last day here in Hawaii and it was probably the hottest day yet. Laura and I relaxed on the beach from 830am until 4pm. It was the perfect way to end one of the best holidays I have ever been on!
I want to give a huge shout out to David and Blake for being the best tour guides out and for giving us the chance to experience the island in a way we never imagined!
Flying back to Australia and back to winter tomorrow. I’m 11 weeks post surgery and as I keep saying, it’s a 12 week recovery, which means it won’t be long before I will be skiing
