So yesterday I made the journey up to Sydney to visit my knee surgeon, for what I was hoping to be my final visit and to be given the all clear to go skiing again. Obviously my knees were feeling good and I knew I had worked my butt off and done everything I possibly could to get both of my knees into the best condition I possibly could. But even though I had done everything I could, I still had a small amount of doubt tucked away in my mind. I don’t know what it is but I freak myself out sometimes even when there is absolutely no reason to freak out.
The appointment with the Doctor went better than I had expected. He was blown away by how stable and strong my knees were. Getting feed back like that makes all the work outs and all the rehab worth it. Dr Waller has said I can start skiing again, and to me, that is the best news ever. I drove home, which is about 5 – 6 hours long, with a smile the whole way, I literally couldn’t be more stoked to know my knees are strong and stable.
Hopefully, in the not so distant future, I will be doing this again:
Stay tuned for some updates on my first day back on snow!
